Photographing within the Woods
When taking photographs of mine or other peoples dogs I always want to find the best place to do the shoot. One of my favourite places in Cornwall to do a photoshoot with a dog is the woodland at Lanhydrock House. There is many different areas within the woods where the dogs can be photographed, from the paths between the trees to the river down by Respryn Bridge.
For this shoot I went there to get photographs of my dogs running through the fallen autumn leaves. I chose to go there on this particular day due to it being very sunny. this meant that I would get lots of light coming through the trees so I didn't have to have my ISO up too high. To get my dog to run towards me I got my family to help, someone behind me to call the dog and the other person to have the dogs further down the path.

As seen in the photograph above I was able to capture one of my dogs running towards me through the leaves. To get this exact photograph I had to work out where the best light was and the focus my camera on that point and then had the dog run towards me. I kept taking photographs until the dog had gone past me, this ended with me having about 15 photographs with only one of the dog in-focus (The one above).
So if you ever want to photograph a dog within woodlands make sure you pick a sunny day so that you get enough light in your photos. Also you will probably need some people to help, be it the dogs owners or your friends, so that the dog will move in the direction you want them to.
