Getting the Best Jumping Shot
When taking photographs of dogs one of the many shots I try to get is of the dogs jumping. this can be done by throwing toys or treats into the air, or my preferred method getting the to jump over an object. When I go out to photograph a dog jumping I always aim to find a location where there is a fixed object that the dog can jump over, normally for me this is a field by Pendennis Castle. There are mounds all around the field where you can get the dogs to run and then jump over them.

So I get the dogs to stand on top of the mounds so that I can focus my camera, I then get a helper to walk the dogs away from me and then when I am reading I call them. I then press the button and end up taking about ten to fifth teen photos, with a least one which is in focus. I carry on doing this over and over again, so that I will end up with more than ten photographs at the end of the shoot.

If you ever decide to have ago at this type of shoot always remember to be patient as it will take a while to get the right shot with many photos which you will discard. Also find an object which is fixed to the group like a mound or a fallen tree, which the dogs are happy to jump over. The shoot can take as long as you like, but I find that after doing the same thing over and over again the dogs will get bored, so I normally do it for about 30 minutes and then walk the dogs for about 20 minutes and then have another go.
